Choir Officers
Choir Officer Roles
Choir officers are elected by their fellow classmates and should be based on their leadership, service and participation in the choral program. These students are expected to exhibit outstanding behavior, excellent leadership and a positive attitude at all times. In choosing your officers, remember that popularity is not the most important criteria! Your student leaders should above all, exhibit a desire to serve the needs of our choir.
Choir Officer Duties and Responsibilities

Please understand that being an officer is a privilege, not a right. Therefore, the director reserves the right to remove anyone from office at any point who does not exemplify the above, exhibits inappropriate behavior or conduct not befitting an officer.

Choir Officer Duties and Responsibilities
President
- Helps lead rehearsals in the absence of the choir director
- Serves as a liaison between the choir and director
- Give pre-concert etiquette speech & introduce songs at concerts
- Help choir students with sight reading, solfege and other music-related questions in-class
- Shows distinguished leadership and positive attitude throughout all MSMS Choir activities
Vice President
- Helps lead rehearsals in the absence of the choir director
- Assist the President in all activities and preside over his/her responsibilities in their absence
- Introduce songs at concerts
- Help choir students with sight reading, solfege and other music-related questions in-class
- Shows distinguished leadership and positive attitude throughout all MSMS Choir activities
Secretaries
- Assists the director with clerical duties during class and other choir functions
- Picks up folders left out at the end of class, marks them down in the book & puts them away
- Organize and maintain all choir bookkeeping items
- Shows distinguished leadership and positive attitude throughout all MSMS Choir activities
Historians
- Responsible for taking pictures at all choir activities throughout the year using Choir iPads
- Prepare a slide show for the end of the year
Stage Manager
- Clean up choir room floor at end of rehearsal.
- Lead riser set-up and tear-down before and after concerts
- Shows distinguished leadership and positive attitude throughout all MSMS Choir activities
Tech Manager
- Lead and correctly put away microphones, cables, keyboard, mic stands & music stands
- Help with technology issues in-class and at concerts
- Responsible for organization of MSMS Choir iPads
- Shows distinguished leadership and positive attitude throughout all MSMS Choir activities
